Chile is one of the most threatened countries by Climate Change and Global Warming. Its beautiful and wild landscapes are trying to adapt to the raise of high temperatures and a number of unusual natural phenomena. However, how will landscapes look like in the future? Future Landscapes are an effort to visualize present landscapes mediated by software –in this case, Processing– in an abstract way. With the concept of Transcoding, understanding it as a way to transform and create completely new forms into another, by interfering with how the computer handles a set of data; I programmed software that modifies a number of images of Chilean landscapes, as we, the humankind, alters natural ecosystems as a consequence of our lifestyles.
